Memoria EFQM

- Club Excelencia en Gestión (CEG) -

The Club Excelencia en Gestión, hereinafter referred to as CEG, is a private, not-for-profit organisation providing services for its members. CEG has almost 300 member organizations on a national scale, drawn from both the private and public sector and from all fields of economic and social activity (private and public companies of different sizes, universities and business schools, consultancies, etc.).

CEG is a not-for-profit association founded in 1991 in the image of the EFQM. The organization was set up by the CEO’s of 21 leading Spanish companies and was originally founded under the name Club Gestión de Calidad. From the outset, the reference organization for CEG has been the EFQM, with whom it signed its first agreement in 1994. In 1998, CEG became the EFQM National Partner Organisation (NPO) for Spain.

In recent years, CEG has been recognized by the EFQM on two accounts: for our recognition system and for results achieved. Spain is the leading country in Europe in terms of the number of Levels of Excellence (LoE) achieved, as CEG “Sellos de Excelencia” are accredited by the EFQM as equivalent to their Levels of Excellence (LoE). In 2010, CEG exceeded the 1,000 “Sellos de Excelencia” awarded since the creation of this recognition scheme. Furthermore, in April 2004, we were also given recognition by the EFQM for our partnership policy. With respect to internal Excellence, CEG scored over 560 points in 2010 after external assessment against the EFQM business Excellence model.

In the course of our brief history, and in line with our Mission statement, CEG has organized over 200 events nationally. These include:

  • The annual CEG Forum. The XVIII Forum attended by over 350 people and with the active participation of prestigious speakers, was held at the beginning of 2010.
  • The Business Seminar for Excellence in Management, similar to the annual CEG Forum but held in Catalonia. Three such events have been held.
  • Best Practice Seminars. Around 3 per year since 2007, designed to share best practice in different areas addressed by the CEG strategy.
  • Open Days. An average of 2 per year, held by CEG members with a view to sharing good management practice.
  • Other events held periodically in collaboration with institutions (public administration bodies and others) and partners.
  • CEG has organized two EFQM Forums (Madrid 1992 and Barcelona 2002), and has participated in the Organizing Committee of the EFQM Forum 2010 in Bilbao, Spain.
